I’m celebrating the release of my (free) e-book, What Is Shared Value And How Does It Help Me?

I remember the hair standing up on the back of my neck when I first read about the concept of ‘shared value’. Why? Because it articulated the ‘thing’ I’d been trying to define or put into words up until that time.

During my corporate days, it didn’t make sense that businesses would do what it takes to make a profit – sometimes at the expense of community or environmental interests – and then pretend everything was okay by philanthropically giving something back afterwards.

And after I left my corporate career behind, I was truly humbled to learn how much I didn’t know about grass roots social issues and how donations, grants and government agency services alone could not solve them.

Shared value provides the concept and the language to knit the business and social agendas together, and you can apply the principles in your own work. It’s where a business benefits from addressing society’s needs.

Shared value helps:

  • Businesses develop profitable social initiatives
  • Non-profits increase their leverage and impact; and
  • Government facilitate deeper and more effective business-community partnerships.

Not only that, shared value principles can be used to help time poor people make an extraordinary difference in the world, to unlock their full potential and rise above ordinary to become extraordinary.

In my e-book, you’ll learn:

  • What shared value is (and isn’t)
  • How it’s different from philanthropy and corporate social responsibility (CSR)
  • How it works in practice via examples
  • The mindset needed to create shared value
  • A process you can follow

To find out how you can make meaningful, sustained and positive change, be my guest and download the e-book.
